Coach V - More Than Basketball, It’s BE Basketball Family

Hey BE Family, when I say “Family”, I mean it!

Some of you might not know this but I’ve with BE Basketball since 2018. This community is definitely like a Family to me.

From learning the BE Way and applying my own flavors to it, from training minis to giving Pros and NCAA players private sessions, through BE I’ve lived a whole life in Basketball.

I was lucky to land in Doha in a time where sports were the hot topic as the country was on count down for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and with that, sports academies around the country were look to grow and expand. That’s how I first met our founders, Ben and Eric (RIP). Amongst other academies testing and interviewing me, BE immediately felt different. I could tell right away that the BE partners had built something special. It was an easy decision, I was happy to become a BE Coach, said yes and never looked back!

During these years, I had the pleasure to build so much in the Qatar Basketball community. Starting our Hamilton School is a highlight for sure! From a couple 5 or 6 player groups to our most consistently thriving hub with a life of it’s own. A lot of you are probably more familiar with our Saturday League though, The Doha Development League (DDL). That is also an amazing journey that this Family has allowed me experience. From an internal Game Day with mostly BE vs BE friendlies being played weekly to now arguably the best ran youth Basketball competition in the country with over 200 players across 4 age groups, the D-League feels like our baby that’s growing fast before our eyes.

And now, I go from witnessing the Sports fever around Doha become specifically a Basketball Boom as we all look ahead to the FIBA World Cup 2027. The best Basketball Players on the Planet going at right here in Qatar and the Basketball community growing by the minute with the excitement and level of play growing with it.

I couldn’t be happier to have wrote such an amazing story alongside you all. A HUGE thank you to every player, family, opponent School partner and so on, everyone who made this amazing ride possible. But we’re done yet. Just like the Basketball community in Qatar, the BE Family continues to grow and I can’t wait to see what awaits us in our next chapter.
