BE X UDST Basketball: A Season of Achievement

The 2025-2026 season marked a major step forward for basketball at the **University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST)**, as both the women’s and men’s varsity teams delivered strong performances under the BE Basketball partnership.
Women’s Varsity: Champions
Led by Coach Julia , the UDST Women’s team made history by winning the 1st Year Doha Development Women’s League.
Competing against strong programs, the team showed consistency, discipline, and composure throughout the season. In the final against BIDSAK, UDST handled the pressure and secured a well-deserved championship.
This achievement reflects the continued growth of women’s basketball and the strength of a program built with purpose and consistency.
Men’s Varsity: Close to the Breakthrough
Under Coach Edgars, the men’s program took a big step forward this season, showing structure, identity, and competitiveness.
The team delivered strong performances, including a tightly contested Sports Madness Tournament Final, where UDST narrowly fell short. In another key game, the team controlled the tempo for nearly 38 minutes before losing 61-62 on a final possession.
These are tough losses - but they tell the truth about the team: **they are close**.
Moments like these build experience, and experience is what turns close games into wins.
For several players, this also marked their final season representing UDST, closing an important chapter in their journey.
Built on Team Effort
The season also included a **Best Coach Award**, a recognition that reflects the discipline, commitment, and character of the players across both teams.
