BE Basketball and the University of Doha Science and Technology Expand their Partnership to include the Varsity Men’s Basketball Program.
Over the past three years, BE Basketball and the University of Doha Science and Technology (UDST) have built a strong and successful partnership through the university’s girls basketball program led strongly by Coach Julia.

During this time, the program has achieved consistent success in championship-level girls tournaments, alongside individual recognition including Coach of the Year honors for Julia, reflecting the quality, structure, and culture established within the program.
Building on this momentum, the 2025–2026 season marks an exciting new chapter in the partnership. From this season onward, BE Basketball has officially taken over the Varsity Men’s Basketball Program at UDST, further strengthening the university’s commitment to basketball excellence.

The men’s program will be led by Head Coach Edgars, with a clear development pathway that includes multiple weekly practices, structured competition, and a long-term vision for elevating the standard of men’s basketball on campus.
UDST continues to demonstrate its investment in student-athlete development by supporting basketball growth across both the men’s and women’s programs, while also offering academic scholarships for men and women who choose to combine higher education with competitive basketball at the university.

Looking ahead, the partnership will expand further with future summer skills camps, enhanced development opportunities, and a continued focus on creating a high-performance yet supportive environment for student-athletes.

Ben Smith, Co-Founder of BE Basketball said this:
“The success of our girls’ program over the past three years led wonderfully by Coach Julia built a strong foundation and opened the door for us to now lead the mens’ varsity program.”

“We’re privileged to be trusted by the University of Doha Science and Technology as the campus becomes a seven-day-a-week home for our programs and the country’s largest basketball development league. This partnership puts us in a strong position to keep driving basketball forward in Qatar as we build toward the 2027 World Cup.”

BE Basketball and the University of Doha Science and Technology are excited to continue growing together, strengthening campus basketball culture, and opening more pathways for student-athletes to thrive both academically and athletically.
