Last Saturday, May 23rd, the BE Basketball family came together for a special day of celebration, competition, and unforgettable memories as we officially marked 11 years of BE Basketball in Qatar.

Players, parents, and coaches from every level of the program shared the court together throughout the day. From the youngest Minis groups with Coach Ratoul and the Development groups at Swiss School, to BE Development led by Coach Julia and Coach V, and BE Select with Coach ED, every group played a role in making the event truly special.
The ceremony reflected everything BE Basketball has stood for over the last 11 years - family, development, competition, and community.
Throughout the event, players participated in fun mini-games, team challenges, and competitions that brought energy and excitement to the court. Parents also joined the action during parent vs kids games, while coaches stepped onto the court for exciting coaches vs players matchups that created some of the best moments of the day.

One of the biggest highlights of the ceremony was the awards presentation, where players were recognized for their hard work, commitment, and growth throughout the season.
Awards included:
* MVP Awards for each BE Basketball group
* Player’s Player Awards, where athletes voted for the teammate who best represented leadership and team spirit
* Season Achievement Certificates presented to all players for their dedication and progress throughout the year

These moments reminded everyone that success at BE Basketball is not only measured by wins and trophies, but also by character, teamwork, consistency, and personal growth.
The ceremony also gave the BE family an opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey of the program. Over the past 11 years, BE Basketball has grown into one of the leading youth basketball programs in Qatar. From building and operating the country’s biggest and most competitive youth development league, DDL, to developing high-level athletes and teams, the program continues to raise the standard year after year.

This season brought major success across the program, including the U10 team winning the championship under Coach ED’s leadership, as well as Coach Julia being recognized as Coach of the Year following the successful Goldwin UDST season - achievements that made the entire BE family proud.

Reflecting on the milestone, BE Basketball cofounder Coach Ben shared:
“After 11 years, one of the things we are most proud of is seeing many of our members still with us more than a decade later. That loyalty, trust, and family culture is what BE Basketball is all about. As we move into our 12th year, we continue building a legacy while helping grow basketball in Qatar, especially as the country moves toward the Basketball World Cup in 2027.”
The event also carried an emotional moment as the BE family officially said farewell to Coach ED after four impactful years with the program. Coach ED played a major role in the growth of countless players and teams, helping shape the culture and competitive standard of BE Basketball. His passion, energy, and commitment left a lasting impact on the community, and he will always remain part of the BE family.

As the ceremony came to an end, one thing was clear: BE Basketball is much more than just a basketball academy. It is a family built through years of hard work, friendships, development, passion, and shared success.
Thank you to every player, parent, coach, and supporter who has been part of this journey.
The memories created on May 23rd perfectly represented everything BE Basketball stands for, and we look forward to continuing to build the future together.
